One of our latest projects at Nu Trade Windows and Doors Limited was carried out at the prestigious Lansbury Heritage Hotel in London E14.
We received an online enquiry (via our FREE Quotation form) from the proprietor or the hotel. The hotel was having some drafty window problems and noise pollution within the guest rooms. Lansbury Hotel requested some information on our Secondary Glazing products. As the old historic building is listed, the existing window frames couldn’t be replaced. Single glazing was really creating lots of noise pollution and drafts.
After meeting with our client, we was able to identify exactly what was expected from us. We worked closely together to find out the best glass specifications and secondary glazing profiles.

Safety glass was paramount in this situation as the Lansbury Heritage Hotel have lots of different guests that check into there hotel on a weekly basis.
We recommended the 4mm clear toughened safety glass to a achieve maximum light transmission from the windows. As well as, maximum safety for insurance policies that are in place for the liability of the public.
Before investing in every room in the hotel, we surveyed 6 of the guest rooms. This was a tester to make sure the client was happy with the noise reduction and draft proof secondary glazing.
Our surveyor sent the order to our in house secondary glazing manufacturing factory in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Within 7 days all of the windows were ready for installation.

We worked closely with the owner of the hotel to ensure minimal disruption to hotel guests, our installation team arrive to fit the new secondary glazed windows.
The installation took 2 to 3 hours per room. Our client was very happy with the results and had some great feedback from the hotel guests that had stayed in the rooms. The new draft free windows had been a success! The secondary glazing as made such a big improvement creating noise reduction, our client has requested another 6 guest rooms.
We are very pleased with the results that we achieve, especially in London where the window frames are very drafty.
